RECAP: The first Gerontological Nurse Certification Review Course, co-sponsored by Charlotte AHEC and NCNA Council on Gerontological Nursing was offered on consecutive Thursdays from May 13 through June 3, 2021 in a virtual live webinar format. The series provided a total of 12.0 contact hours.
Seven of the 11 presenters were Gero Council members: Jacqueline DeBrew, Suzy Diggle-Fox, Deborah Hummer, Letha Joseph, Deborah Lekan, Andrea Novak, and Tomika Williams. Of the 17 attendees who participated, at least six indicated the intent to sit for the ANCC Gerontological Nurse certification exam. This was a fabulous opportunity for nurses to experience a comprehensive review of key topics and content in Gero nursing, and to jumpstart or fine-tune a study plan for the Gero certification exam.
