IMPORTANT UPDATE IN LIGHT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

March 20, 2020 - We have had to drastically revamp our 2020 Nurse Practitioner Spring Symposium. The ban on large gatherings and the prudent strategy of severe social distancing policies have forced many events to cancel, but we are incredibly excited to offer the vast majority of our agenda online – and more importantly – on time.

Our goal is to provide the same (or close to it) agenda and contact hours as we originally planned. This new format offers several advantages, including the flexibility of watching the entire event when it makes the most sense for you over the span of several months and a much lower total cost since there are no travel/hotel expenses.

This week, our speakers began recording sessions remotely with the help of MultiView, the company that we regularly work with to record in-person sessions for content capture. They are great at what they do, and we are thrilled that you will be able start virtually “attending” NPSS by March 30.

If already registered, you do not need to do anything to access the content; we will send you a link with instructions to listen to the speakers’ presentations with their slides at your convenience.

We hope everyone will still plan on “attending” remotely but understand that may not be feasible for some people. If you need to discuss other options, please call our office at (919) 821-4250 by March 25.

Retooling a complex and robust event like this on the fly has been an incredibly complicated process. We are proud of the way our staff and speakers have responded to help ensure we can still provide you with quality professional development and continuing education during a time of much uncertainty. NCNA has no way of recouping a lot of the time, money and resources that we had already expended to plan the original in-person symposium. There were other options on the table that could have been less of a hit to our own budget, but we thought this format was the best for YOU, the Nurse Practitioner.

THANK YOU for your patience and flexibility. The fact that so many of you have reached out hoping we could keep this event intact in some fashion proves how valuable this event has become to Nurse Practitioners, and that only drives us to work even harder to deliver! This is one of NCNA’s flagship events and its sustainability is vital for both the association and our Nurse Practitioner members. We hope you will stick with us during trying times.
